Gentle Monster hoped to close the gap between offline and online brand experience by reinventing its digital presence and overall experience while hoping to grow out of its current specific demo audience and creating diverse awareness and consideration points within the local market.
Client's objectives: Drive purchase through product exploration & recommendations; Reinvent its digital presence and overall e-commerce experience; Increase awareness and consideration among a more diverse, global consumer; Strengthen brand affinity within current audience groups. Fuse the analog and digital into a single space to amplify the store’s spirit and energy; Broad the brand appeal without losing the local roots that are important to the brand.

To capture the brand's contrasting nature, I started a visual exploration that involved playing with opposites such as small and big, black and white, positive and negative, type, and photography. The use of a vertical scroll that alternated between dark and bright further emphasized the narrative.
